|I don't see how I can read and understand my Excel manual without more context.

Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
What does it really mean?
I get a kick out of the concept of a manual requiring "context." When I used to work on computers and such there were people who could read a manual and learn how to operate something and there were people who just could not. I deduced after a while that the reason the people who couldn't couldn't was because they were trying to discern context and divine back story, to "read between the lines," as it were, and "find meaning," which would invariably lead them down a rabbit hole into a world where nothing worked. A well written manual means precisely what it says and that's all it means.
