Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
Kind of a goofy hodge-podge of a movie, excellently done. I think the Coens wanted to direct a full-on Gene-Kelly-style song and dance number and an Ester Williams water ballet fantasy and a shoot 'em up singing cowboy "oater" and a Cecil B. DeMille biblical epic. So they did. And mooshed them all together into a loosely rambling period comedy. It's cool. It's funny. It is and it isn't a masterpiece. Actually, the disparate pieces are masterpieces in their own rights, the resulting collage probably isn't, but it's really fun. Go see it.
