Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
That's from Craig Ferguson's Between the Bridge and the River. He was talking about a bullet whizzing by a guy's head in the trenches in WW I. It's a very apt description in the context in which it's used, but I think it could probably lend itself to much wider application. It's got that whiff of oxymoronica that I am so fond of. Like "ruthlessly inept," one of my other favorites.
Old Craig gets off a good one now and then. The book is very entertaining. It has not, however, been sanitized for television. Don't pick it up thinking it's a 300 page Craig Ferguson monologue. It's got sex, drugs, murder, perversion, and steps on a few religious toes in the process.
. . .
Damn, I'm starving.
