"Murderously indifferent"

That's from Craig Ferguson's Between the Bridge and the River.  He was talking about a bullet whizzing by a guy's head in the trenches in WW I.  It's a very apt description in the context in which it's used, but I think it could probably lend itself to much wider application.  It's got that whiff of oxymoronica that I am so fond of.  Like "ruthlessly inept," one of my other favorites.

Old Craig gets off a good one now and then.  The book is very entertaining.  It has not, however, been sanitized for television.  Don't pick it up thinking it's a 300 page Craig Ferguson monologue.  It's got sex, drugs, murder, perversion, and steps on a few religious toes in the process.
