Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
. . . she used that red Dano bass of mine for over a year. Stevie told her she could have whatever she wanted, but because she was an accidental first time bass player, she really didn't know any better. Then she met Sheryl who knew Tal. Molly ended up spending a weekend with Tal in Nashville and really had her eyes opened as to what is available. Tal fixed her up with a much more wieldy, playable bass and actually wanted to give it to her, but Molly would only take it as a loan. After using it for a week or so she ordered an identical-but-red one from the manufacturer (she said she just couldn't see herself playing anything but a red one) and when she got it from them, she boxed up Tal's and sent it back to her with a note that said: "THANK YOU, sweetheart! You're one of mine!" You would have to know Molly and Buster to know what an over-the-top display of emotion that was. Anyway, she also ordered a half stack of the amps that Tal was using at the time. When she got that, she used it for a couple of weeks then sent it back and reverted to the rig I'd put together for her in the first place. She said it was "more comfy." So, all's well that ends well: Molly's got a much, much cooler bass she can really wail on and a comfy amplifier stack.
