. . . I'll grant that sometimes it is beneficial or even necessary to "read between the lines." All I'm saying is that one might not want to become so fixated on or proficient at "reading between the lines" that one forgets to read the lines. I'm saying read the lines first, before you attempt to parse out what was really being said.
