Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
I dropped my land line and I get $30 back from CenturyLink (that which passes for a phone company anymore). It will be mailed in 7 to 10 business days. I love the way finance works in these modrin times. Anything in the corporation's favor can happen instantly, anything in your favor . . . Charges can be registered against your credit card in milliseconds from Tel Aviv. Refunds? Well, I'm afraid that's going to take a little time. It's not good business to rush into these things, you see.
[EDIT 2016.06.21] When I told the kid at the CenturyLink call center that I had been promised my refund in seven to ten days over a month ago, he told me that refunds are mailed out in about a week. I said that a month is longer than a week and he seemed confused, but he did go talk to someone else about it and reassured me when he returned that it would be mailed out immediately. Guess what? It was! I got it two days later: One check for twenty-odd dollars like I expected and one for fifty-two cents. Whatever.
