Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
. . . is a very interesting documentary about one of Kitty Genovese' brothers digging up all of the information, known and unknown, about her life and murder that he could find in an attempt to figure out what really happened fifty years after the fact. It's depressing on a number of levels, but very well done, very insightful and informative and definitely worth seeing.

Neon Demon is a little bit dumb . . . OK, a fair bit dumb, especially toward the end, but there is a lot of striking, nay: stunning, photographic imagery, mostly of women (which you'd expect from a movie about fashion modeling) but of other stuff, too. Parts of the movie are nothing but mini-galleries of these exceptional images, which don't contribute much to the movie but are worth seeing for their own sake.
