Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
Couscous and Quinoa. A song that simultaneously praises and warns us off of New Californic Cuisine, with expositional verses about how SoCal Level 4 Organic Veganistas can take ingredients used by other chefs in other lands, and spices used all over the world, and put them together in a way that results in a cold concoction (it's always cold) that tastes vaguely of mildew---or, if you're not so lucky, maybe not that vaguely of mildew. Whether they actually achieve a recognizable emulation of mildew or not, the final combination of flavors and textures is just a bit off. The real skill of a SoCal Level 4 Organic Veganista is to keep the sensation of OFF just below the threshold of ready discernment so that while the consumer knows something is a bit off, they are hard put to say exactly what it is. That's their art, you see.
I'm thinking it could be at least as big as Hotel California. No? "In a dark desert kitchen / smell of mold in the air . . ."
