|The Seasons in Quincy: Four Portraits of John Berger . . .

Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
. . . is a very warm pleasant movie about John Berger (who I didn't really know anything about) and about his life in a tiny town in the French Alps and his friendship with Tilda Swinton and his family's little farming operation there. There is commentary about the relationship between humans and farm animals by some other filmmaker/documentarians. Tilda's kids get corralled into taking part and it's not clear if they are meant to be characters or props in the story, but they're pleasant enough and add a "one big family" ambiance to the proceedings. It is a bit of a hodgepodge, but like I said, a warm pleasant one that leaves me wishing I knew the people depicted personally.
