Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
. . . is a very well put together sequel to Trainspotting.
All of the actors are the same, just twenty years older. At the end of Trainspotting, Mark runs away with the money, "Franco" ends up in prison, Simon takes to running small time cons while trying to break into the "spa" business (read: upscale prostitution) and Spud tries to go legit but loses his job because he can't deal with Daylight Savings Time. So the trajectory the characters were on is interrupted for twenty years. When Mark returns from a fifteen year-long broken marriage in Amsterdam and Frank breaks out of prison, they are free to resume their miserable trajectory, which they do only to end up about where they were. Doesn't sound like much of a story, but it is well written, directed and acted and ends up being very entertaining.
