Phrembah (a potato-like mystery)
1984 was very good shot at Orwell's ode to dystopia. The acting, writing, direction, all of it is very good. It'skind of weird watching a story that you know the ending of, more like going to see a Shakespeare play than a whodunnit. Even knowing the story, I found it very entertaining.
FUR ALERT (a new service of the Hurtling Butt-First Through Time page): Julia, the protagonist's love interest, has very hairy armpits and a ferocious bush and is nekkid more than once upin the movie. So you know.

. . .
Clue (the 1985 version) is actually based on the Parker Brothers game that was in turn based on a game thatwas popular during WWII in Britain and commercialized after the war by Waddington's. It has Tim Curry, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, Eileen Brennan, Christopher Lloyd, Lesley Ann Warren and Madeline Kahn---fairly famous folks in the day--- and others. It's a really fum movie with a fire hose stream of obvious gags and puns that come and go too quickly to groan at, sort of in the style of Laugh In or Monty Python. I thought it was funnier than hell and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
