. . . at least in the mind of the madman. If you have to be mad to perceive or appreciate the method or even to believe it exists, is it really method? Blind people would be completely unaware of stars were it not for tales of stars told them by sighted people. Should we or should we not believe tales told us by madmen of things perceived only through their "faculty" of madness which we do not share or which does not in us function to the same degree?
